How to Set Your Wallpaper

Downloaded a wallpaper from ScreenFresh? Here is exactly how to set it on every device. The process takes less than a minute.

iPhone (iOS 16+)

  1. 1Open the Settings app and tap Wallpaper.
  2. 2Tap Add New Wallpaper at the top.
  3. 3Choose Photos and select your downloaded image.
  4. 4Pinch to zoom and position the image as you like.
  5. 5Tap Add in the top-right corner.
  6. 6Choose Set as Wallpaper Pair to apply to both Lock Screen and Home Screen, or Customise Home Screen to set them separately.

Android

  1. 1Long-press on an empty area of your Home Screen.
  2. 2Tap Wallpaper (or Wallpaper & style on some devices).
  3. 3Select My Photos or Gallery.
  4. 4Find and tap the downloaded wallpaper image.
  5. 5Adjust the crop area by dragging and pinching.
  6. 6Tap Set Wallpaper, then choose Home screen, Lock screen, or both.

Mac (macOS Ventura+)

  1. 1Open System Settings from the Apple menu.
  2. 2Click Wallpaper in the sidebar.
  3. 3Click Add Photo or drag your downloaded image into the window.
  4. 4Select the image and choose how it should be displayed: Fill Screen, Fit to Screen, Centre, or Tile.
  5. 5The wallpaper applies immediately.

Windows 10 / 11

  1. 1Right-click on the desktop and select Personalise.
  2. 2Click Background in the left sidebar.
  3. 3Under Background, select Picture from the dropdown.
  4. 4Click Browse and navigate to your downloaded wallpaper.
  5. 5Select the image and choose a fit: Fill, Fit, Stretch, Tile, Centre, or Span.
  6. 6The wallpaper applies automatically.

iPad (iPadOS 16+)

  1. 1Open Settings and tap Wallpaper.
  2. 2Tap Add New Wallpaper.
  3. 3Select Photos and choose your downloaded image.
  4. 4Use pinch-to-zoom to adjust. iPad wallpapers work best at 2048 x 2732 resolution.
  5. 5Tap Add, then choose to set for both screens or customise individually.

Tips for the Best Results

  • Always download the highest resolution available. Our generator exports at 4K by default.
  • Landscape images work best on desktops. Portrait images suit phones and tablets.
  • If the image looks blurry, check that your device is not compressing the file. On iPhone, go to Settings then Photos and enable Download and Keep Originals.
  • Dark wallpapers save battery on OLED screens and make app icons easier to read.
